Why Experts Think Gaming on the Apple Watch Will Suck

The Apple Watch has been all the talk over the last 24-hours following its arrival in stores across the world. You can't buy it, but you can play with it and preorder it ahead of the official April 24 release. One of the big talking points about the wearable device is its lack of gaming experiences, with only 10 titles even announced for the Apple Watch at the time of this writing - very few of which are expected to be available at launch. It's a stark difference to the iPhone, where nine of the top ten apps in 2014 were games!

As part of the discussion, comparison site Finder spoke to nine video games experts about the future of the Apple Watch as a gaming device - this included Grab It publisher Chris Stead. You can read the full article here, and while our man was optimistic that the indie scene will conjure up some unique and compelling experiences that feel organic to the Apple Watch in time, for the most part the theme was negative. It appears that most experts don't see gaming on the Apple Watch, or wearables in general, of having much to offer, at least in the near future. Battery life, screen size and control options being the main sticking points.
