Google has finally allowed iOS users into the world of Ingress, its augmented reality game that sees players hunting through real world locations to find not-so-real "Exotic Matter." Playing as either The Enlightened or The Resistance, gamers gather this mysterious energy in a bid to control the world or save it.

The game has been humming along on Android since December last year, and despite its popularity, the iOS release didn’t receive much in the way of fanfare, announced as it was via a low key Google Plus post from one of the game’s developers.

Despite the relative quiet about the game, Ingress has racked up a solid following. No doubt the low-fi release is just another layer of the whole Ingress conspiracy; it isn’t a game, after all - just see the trailer below.
